Body Contouring

The first step of the process starts with you seeing Dr. Shel for a thorough analysis of your body and goals. During this time, our practitioner will take your measurements, weight, and fat percentage. We may even consider your hydration levels.

If after your assessment, we determine BTL Vanquish ME or another body contouring treatment could help you, our Dr. Shel will ask you to lie on the treatment table. At this time, we can initiate the treatment on the same day. If you receive Vanquish, our practitioner will place a device directed at the target area. You won’t feel any pain. You may feel a warming sensation or tingling with Vanquish as it heats the fat cells.

Once the device warms the cells, they rise to between 109 and 113 degrees Fahrenheit, which causes apoptosis (cell death). While that sounds too hot to apply to your skin, it really isn’t. The skin has a naturally high moisture level, causing the temperature that touches your skin to be more relaxed.

Unlike other radio frequency-based systems, Vanquish utilizes a panel array, allowing us to treat the entire abdominal region. Plus, it emits 12x the energy compared to other similar systems, which means it has a high-efficiency rating. Additionally, Vanquish ME can provide the added benefit of subtle skin tightening due to the tissue heating. Ultimately, this will give you a better shape.

You can opt for body contouring on your arms, legs, hips, or abdomen, though it’s most effective for treating larger areas, such as your thighs and abdomen. Therefore, if you have a bit of extra weight in those areas, this treatment might be appropriate for you.

That doesn’t say much about whether it works…

So, clinical studies have proven the effectiveness of body contouring through Vanquish.

But is it right for you?

We’ll actually provide you with a thorough evaluation to ensure it’s the most suitable treatment and one that has the highest potential to help you meet your goals.

With that being said, however, only some patients are candidates for this procedure. Typically, you may desire it if you:

• Have loose skin (usually after a period of extreme weight loss)
• Have pockets of fat that won’t respond to diet or exercise alone
• Are struggling to get your body back in shape after pregnancy
• Are near your ideal weight
• Want a non-surgical solution

As we assess you, we’ll want to know if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding because not enough testing has been conducted to determine if it’s safe during these times.

Those with metal implants in the treatment area or possibly somewhere else may not qualify because the material could interfere with the radio frequencies. Similarly, those with defibrillators or pacemakers won’t qualify due to the potential for interference.

Ideally, your body mass index (BMI) should be less than 30. We will only perform it if it’s higher because you may receive noticeable results.

To qualify, you also shouldn’t have an autoimmune disorder or a history or active case of cancer.
