The men in our life play an important role in supporting our daily lives. It is our turn to help them find the balance in theirs. For National Men’s Health Week we must remember the importance of regular checkups and various screenings. Exercise and a well balanced diet can also help in overall wellness. In addition to the previously stated, we are also reminded that many of the symptoms our middle age men encounter may be due to a reduction in the hormone testosterone, commonly called Andropause. Symptoms may include fatigue, low libido, irritability, and depression among others. Using biologically identical hormones, or BHRT, a trained physician is able to replace the missing hormones, as identified using various testing methods. Overall, treatment is simple and most patients should experience relief of some symptoms within the first month of treatment.
