Hormones can be tested on both men and women at virtually any age. We all go through hormone changes throughout our lives including: puberty, after childbirth, menopause and andropause to name a few. If hormone imbalance is suspected it is advised to complete a symptoms checklist to help determine if hormone imbalance is present. Hormone level can be tested by utilizing either blood or saliva samples. I encourage my patients to test with saliva since it is considered to be the gold standard in testing by providing extremely accurate results that typically match perfectly with symptoms that the patient is experiencing.
